Sarah Balkind, the daughter of Shmuel and Pesya, grandaughter of Rivka, survived to give testimony at the Soviet trial of the Shkud perpetrators. She stated her oldest brother, Leib Balkind, was murdered on June 28 (Shaf-Brener 9).
