According to Hana Shaf-Brener, Efraim Volpert, who worked in a matzo bakery and grocery store, was married to Leah. The couple had two adult sons, Berl and Betsalel.

Jewish Gen’s Lithuania Tax and Voters Lists indicates that Efroim Volpert, son of Berel, worked in a grocery in 1914.

The Lithuania Marriages database indicates that Berel Volpert, age 16, son of Eliash, married nineteen-year-old Rokhel, born to Vulf Yoffe in Shkud in 1849. Perhaps Berel and Rokhel were Efraim’s grandparents? Chaim Kalman Volpert, born in Skuodas in March 1909 married Leya Shtabinski in Alytus in 1936.
