According to Jewish Gen’s Lithuania Tax and Voters List database, the Stires family was established in Shkud by 1846. The Lithuania Marriages database records the 1927 marriage of Yokel Stires, age 22, son of Vulf and Gite (nee Klein) of Skuodas, to Nokhe Esterman, age 22, daughter of Meer and Elke of Skuodas. In 1930, Yokel’s sister Hane married Sroel David Shmukler of Gargzdai.

Benjamin Stires, born in Skuodas in 1907 to Abram and Gitel (nee Klein) of Kaunas, married Ella Kagan in Raseiniai in 1934. Without more information, we cannot be sure that this Benjamin is the same as in the chart above. (Was Abram also called Vulf? Did he and his family move from Skuodas to Kaunas?)

As of November 2013, Yad Vashem’s Shoah Names Database provides no information on the Stires family of Shkud.
