According to Hana Shaf-Brener, Pinchus Smolenski, a treasurer of the Old Synagogue, was married to Chaya Pesya (nee Bernstein). The couple had many children, including two young daughters, born in 1931, Chana Pesya and Rachel.
The Shkud Smolenski family does not seem to have been a large one. As of November 2013, I found only one reference on Jewish Gen: the Lithuania Marriages database indicates that Beile Stirus, who married Aron Shakht in 1929, was born in Skuodas in 1900 to Rakhmiel and Atere (nee Smolenski). I could not find a record for Chaya Bernstein.
As of November 2013, Yad Vashem has no information on the Smolenski family of Skuodas, Chaja (or Pesya) Bernstein of Skuodas, or Pinchus Smolenski of Lithuania.
